Secrets have been hard to keep in the camera world lately, and now Olympus has undergone its second leak in as many days, but this time with a couple of higher-profile actors -- the E-PL5 and E-PM2 mirrorless cameras. Both will use the Olympus E-M5 sensor with TruePic VI image engine and touchscreen, and are reported to be priced at €399 ($520) for the E-PM2 with a 14-42mm kit lens (in silver, below the break) and €599 ($780) for the E-PL5 with the same lens, shown above. That follows earlier leaks from Sony, Fujifilm and others, along with two upcoming lenses from Olympus that were also outed ahead of time. Hopefully, there'll still be a couple of surprises left when Photokina rolls around next week.

The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in hybrid has sold over 6,000 units in its first six months on sale. Ingram writes that the demand is due to the Prius Plug-In's excellent fuel economy and its relative value next to the Chevy Volt.

That, says Toyota, is more than the first six months of Chevrolet Volt sales, at 2,745 units, and Nissan Leaf sales, which managed 3,875 cars in its first month.
Toyota is putting demand for the Prius Plug-In down to not just its fuel economy--rated at 95 MPGe in EV mode, and 50 MPG combined on gas only--but also for its relative value next to the Chevy Volt, and lack of range anxiety next to pure electrics like the Leaf.
The Prius name may also have something to do with those sales, as for previous Prius owners, familiarity with the existing model will go a long way--longer electric range aside, it feels no different to drive.
Owners seem pleased with the experience so far, too.
Just as buyers of the Chevy Volt are finding, the extra EV range is genuinely useful, even if it doesn't entirely cover an owner's commute. Naturally, the Volt handles this better than the Prius, thanks to its 35-mile electric range--the Prius Plug-In is rated at 11 miles by the EPA.
Even so, Prius owners are recording high MPG figures on the car's computer--one owner recording 136 MPG after 4,000 miles with a 31-mile each way commute, and another managing 120 MPG on his own commute, mostly done at low speeds in EV mode. We managed 104 MPG on our most recent drive in the car, and eked out 12 miles of EV range before the gasoline engine kicked in.
A full charge of the Plug-In's 4.4 kWh lithium-ion battery takes around 2.5 to 3 hours from a standard 120V outlet, or 1.5 hours from a 240V charging station.
It also qualifies for a $2,500 Federal Tax Credit if you're eligible, and a further $1,500 rebate as part of California's Clean Vehicle Rebate Program, taking the $32,000 Prius Plug-In down to as little as $28,000 for a select few.
The car is also eligible for California's HOV lane sticker.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? President Barack Obama on Wednesday condemned attacks on a U.S. consulate in eastern Libya that killed the U.S. ambassador and three American members of his staff. He ordered increased security at U.S. diplomatic posts around the world.
In a White House statement, Obama said he had ordered "all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe."
The attacks occurred Tuesday night in the eastern city of Benghazi by protesters angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad, according to Libya officials. Ambassador Chris Stevens, 52, was killed when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff as the building came under attack by a mob guns and rocket propelled grenades. Three other Americans were also killed.
Stevens is the first U.S. ambassador to be killed in an attack since 1979, when Ambassador Adolph Dubs was killed in Afghanistan.
The State Department identified one of the other Americans killed Tuesday as Sean Smith, a foreign service information management officer. The identities of the others were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Obama called Stevens a "courageous and exemplary representative of the United States."
"I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi," Obama said in the statement. The four Americans, he said, "exemplified America's commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe."
The White House said Obama was notified Tuesday night that Stevens was unaccounted for and was told Wednesday morning that Stevens had been killed.
Obama was informed about the developments in Libya by his National Security Adviser Tom Donilon as the president began a weekly meeting Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey. The White House said Obama was kept apprised throughout the evening and then again Wednesday morning.
The Pentagon said early Wednesday that it was working with the State Department on Obama's order for increased security around the world.
"We are following this tragic incident closely with the State Department," Lt. Col. Steven Warren, a Defense Department spokesman said. "We are prepared to support the State Department in any way."
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said those killed had been "committed to helping the Libyan people reach for a better future."
Stevens was a career diplomat who spoke Arabic and French and had already served two tours in Libya, including running the office in Benghazi during the revolt against Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. He was confirmed as ambassador to Libya by the Senate earlier this year.
His State Department biography, posted on the website of the U.S. Embassy to Libya, says he "considers himself fortunate to participate in this incredible period of change and hope for Libya."
Clinton said Stevens had a "passion for service, for diplomacy and for the Libyan people."
"This assignment was only the latest in his more than two decades of dedication to advancing closer ties with the people of the Middle East and North Africa which began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco," Clinton said.
He "risked his own life to lend the Libyan people a helping hand to build the foundation for a new, free nation. He spent every day since helping to finish the work that he started," she said.
Stevens joined the Foreign Service in 1991 and spent his early State Department career at posts in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria and Israel. After working for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff for Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., Stevens was posted to Libya as deputy chief of mission.
In that post, Stevens wrote several confidential cables back to Washington, describing Gadhafi's bizarre behavior. During the 2011 revolt against Gadhafi, he was one of the last American diplomats to stay in Tripoli and after the embassy was closed, he was appointed to head the U.S. liaison office to the Transitional National Council.

But you only care about video, don't you? You'll be glad to hear that it's getting expanded as well. The rear camera is identical to the 4S, albeit with better image stabilization. The front facing camera now offers 720p video capture for all your extreme close-ups -- also for FaceTime, which will be available via LTE on the iPhone 5. But on all cellular networks? We're not so sure just yet.

LONDON -- A former British air force pilot who discovered the bodies of four people on a road in the French Alps has told how he slowly realized what he initially thought was an accident was actually a horrific multiple murder and how he could be in serious danger.
Brett Martin was cycling on the road near Lake Annecy on Sept. 5 when he discovered the bodies of?Saad al-Hilli, 50, an Iraqi-born engineer, his wife Iqbal, a 47-year-old dentist, and and her mother in a BMW car, along with?French cyclist Sylvain Mollier, 45.?Mollier had cycled passed Martin, from Sussex, England, earlier on the road.
In an interview with BBC News, Martin said he feared the shooter might still be nearby, but took actions that were later said by French authorities to have saved the life of the al-Hillis' daughter Zainab, 7, who was shot and beaten in the attack.
Martin told the BBC the first thing he saw as he approached the scene was a bicycle lying on its side and Zainab, who he initially thought was playing. He then realized she had serious head injuries and was covered in blood.
"She was prone on the road, moaning, semi-conscious and she was lying in a position that was in front of this car with its wheels spinning," Martin told the broadcaster. "She was very severely injured because she was in and out of consciousness."
'A lot of blood'
He moved her out of the path the car, which was still going with its wheels spinning, before turning to the cyclist, before quickly deducing he was dead.
Martin then went to switch off the car?s engine and started to wonder if holes in the windows of the car had been made by bullets.

"It became fairly evident that the injuries of the people inside didn't match what one would think people would be like from a car accident," he said.
But it was only when he moved round to the back of the car, that the situation became clear.
Martin said it looked like a scene from a Hollywood movie.
"If somebody had said 'cut' and everybody got up and walked away that would have been it, but unfortunately it was real life,? he told the BBC. "It became quite obvious now, taking stock, that it was a gun crime. Now I was getting a little bit anxious.
"There was a lot of blood and heads with bullet holes in them," he added.

'Crazy person in the woods'
Martin then looked around, fearing a "crazy person in the woods" might by firing from a distance with a high-powered rifle.
Despite this danger, he tried to call the emergency number on his cellphone, but was unable to get a signal and had to go for help.
Zainab came out of a medically-induced coma on Sunday and will be questioned by police as soon as she is fit.

Her four-year-old sister sister Zeena -- who was found hiding in the car hours after the shooting -- also survived. Martin told the BBC that it did not "surprise me in the least" that the girl was not found sooner because she was hidden beneath the bodies of the two men in the car.
