A Few Secrets Of Attracting Customers Through Online Advertising ...

Internet has become the fastest means of communication among individuals across the world. It has also become the most effective means of connecting brand/business owners with their prospective customers. Online advertising also known as internet advertising or web advertising is one of the fast growing means of brand or business communication. This blog highlights a few secrets of attracting customers through online advertising.

Publishing unique articles or blogs about your business

It may surprise many brand or business owners, but it is true that publishing unique articles or blogs about your business helps in attractive various customers to your website thereby acquainting them about what your business offers. Ezine is one of the online publishing sites where you can publish your articles or blogs. A major advantage of publishing online articles or blogs is that it is usually free of cost and you can elaborately talk about your brand or business in detail. Customers who are directed to the publishing sites read the informative content. If the content sounds pretty interesting, they would be encouraged to adopt or buy the business or brand. Search Engine Marketing is one of the main tools of Internet Advertising. Writing articles and blogs and publishing them on various sites is also one of the main strategies of search engine marketing. Search engine optimizers make the most of this very strategy to promote their business among customers.

Making the most of Email marketing

Another secret of Web Advertising is to interact with customers through emails. Most of us do not forget to check our mail boxes. By presenting the brand message right through the inboxes of customers, advertisers can easily persuade them to go through the same. Email marketing is also a cost effective means of web advertising. Advertisers can sort out the mailing list of a particular email campaign and can target only those customers who will probably reach to the advertisement. A thorough demographic survey is however one of the assets of promoting a brand or business through email marketing.

Online advertising in any of its forms provides rich content and attractive graphic. Any visitor gets glued to the brand message because of such features. Most of the online ad campaigns convey interesting brand messages to customers which is why recall value is also pretty good through an online ad display. Banner advertising, virals, email and sms campaigns, PPC, pop ups etc. are some forms of online advertising adopted by brand owners to promote their products on web world.

Internet is a global platform for many products and services. Internet advertising is therefore the smartest means of brand communication. A brand or business advertised through online media can be accessed by customers from anywhere across the globe and also without any restraint of time factor. The message or information is available for 24 hours, 7 days a week, months and even for years. A website for a brand or business for example is one of the reliable means for anyone to access valuable information on the product or service. One can visit the website as many times as one prefers and also go through the information again and again. Repetitive readership is yet another advantage of creating an online presence of a brand or business.

US trucker nabbed with ammo in Mexico is freed

EL PASO, Texas (AP) ? A Dallas trucker imprisoned for seven months in Mexico on accusations that he had tried to smuggle in assault rifle ammunition broke down in tears Friday as he returned to the United States, saying he had at times given up hope.

Jabin Bogan claimed he was on his way to Phoenix to deliver the ammunition in April when he took a wrong highway exit and accidentally crossed the border into Mexico. The 27-year-old was arrested and taken to a Mexican maximum security prison.

"Some days I gave up hope. Some days I felt like God was, to be honest in my heart, like God was laughing. Like he was just punishing me for no reason. I felt like just giving up," he said during a brief news conference in El Paso, just minutes after arriving back in the U.S.

Bogan tearfully thanked his supporters, and said that at times he felt like taking his own life or someone else's.

"I was the only black American person in the whole prison. God brought me through and I made it," he said.

Bogan was released from the Mexican prison last week but had been detained by immigration authorities until Friday. He was found guilty of possession of military ammunition and sentenced to three years, but the ruling was later commuted for time served and a fine.

He was arrested on April 17 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, just across the border from El Paso. Bogan said he was headed to Phoenix to deliver ammunition when he got lost and told Mexican authorities that a law enforcement officer at the border told him to continue driving across the international bridge.

Bogan said he attempted to turn back when he realized he had crossed into Mexico, but the layout of the traffic lanes prevented him from returning without first crossing into the truck inspection area in Juarez, where his truck was searched.

He said Friday that when he acknowledged to the agents he had ammunition, "they said, 'in this side of the country it's illegal to have bullets.' And that's when everything went upside down they took me in and never let me out."

During his trial, Mexican customs agents contradicted prosecutors' claim that Bogan had 268,000 bullets hidden under the floorboards of his 18-wheeler's trailer when he was arrested. Agents testified in June that Bogan was trying to make a U-turn back into the U.S. when they found the ammunition bundled on top of wooden pallets inside the trailer.

Bogan was arrested less than 100 feet from a giant billboard that reads, "no more weapons." The sign, unveiled by Mexican President Felipe Calderon two months before Bogan was caught, was made out of seized high-caliber rifles and ammunition.

Calderon has blamed lax U.S. gun laws for the flow of weapons into Mexico.

An appeal filed in August by Bogan's lawyer in Mexico, Emilio de la Rosa, reduced the charge from smuggling to possession of military ammunition. That allowed Bogan to be released after serving a portion of his sentence and paying a fine. He also was sentenced to supervised release, which he can do by mail.

The ammunition belonged to United Nations Ammunition. De la Rosa said the bullets would not be returned to the company.

A spokesman with the Mexican Attorney General did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment.

Bogan's attorney, Carlos Spector, maintains that Bogan made an honest mistake. But he said his lawyers decided not to fight the case, in part because of the potential political implications.

"He (De la Rosa) knew the options were get him out in six or seven months or sink him with a 30-year-sentence. Asking for a not-guilty sentence was impossible because the Mexican government had to get something out of this," Spector said.

Bird-Sitting Richie | vet-n-pet DIRECT News, Pet Related Articles ...

This week we have been bird-sitting my brother?s beautiful bird ?Richie?.?
Richie is an Alexandrine Parrot and he is about 12 months old.? My brother adores his bird and he was going away for a week and decided it would be best if I looked after him.? My girls , husband and I were more than happy to oblige as I love birds and actually would love to get a cockatoo one day.

Alexandrine Parrots are medium sized birds and are known to be friendly, intelligent and talkative, which is why my brother chose to get one.? We are still unsure if Richie is in fact a boy or not, as the way to tell is that the males develop a beautiful red and black ring around their necks as they get older and the females don?t.? This ring can take up to the age of three to develop, so Richie is still too young to be sure.?? He is a beautiful colour with varying shades of blue and green with red patches on his wings and a striking orange red beak.

Richie is a great pet and seems to have adjusted to our household very well.? We were a little bit concerned on how Lilly, our dog, would react to him but she has pretty much ignored him, unless he dropped food then she would go and eat it up.? Richie is very noisy and always seems to be squawking, whistling or (almost) saying hello.? He is also very messy, constantly tipping his water over and flooding his cage or having a bath in it.? There is a non stop mess around his cage consisting of seed, fruit, feathers and of course poo.? He is also pretty destructive, with his very strong beak and claws he manages to chew everything.

When at home Richie is very spoilt by my brother and he spends a lot of time out of his cage, with free run of the house.? He even has two cages, an outdoor one where he spends his days on the deck and an indoor cage for nighttime and bad weather.? Both cages are huge and filled with a variety of toys to keep him amused.? Richie also loves his food.? It seems that he wants to eat everything he sees you eating.? He has a constant supply of mixed seed, with nuts and fruit in it, but his favourite thing is the Vetafarm Parrot Deli Treats.? He just goes crazy when he sees you get the box out to get him some.? Richie also has a good mixture of fresh fruit and vegetables daily including apples, carrots, corn and cucumber. When my brother dropped him off I was given a lecture on what human foods were safe for him to eat and decided it was best to check it out to be sure.? I found this website http://www.animalloverspetshop.com/BirdCare.html it has links for lists on what is safe to feed your bird and other bird care tips.

I asked my brother if he has ever wormed Richie and he said no, he didn?t realise he needed to.? This is commonly overlooked by bird owners, but like all pets they do require worming.?? I bought my brother some Avitrol Plus Worming Syrup to worm Richie with once he goes home and is less likely to be stressed.? There are also many vitamin and mineral supplements available for birds that may be lacking something or perhaps are unwell or during molting.? Overall Richie seems to be in good health and is a very happy bird.

Birds make good pets and can be very interactive and affectionate and are possibly a little bit less work than a cat or dog but they do still require a lot of care.? Birds, like Richie, that are tame and interact a lot with people require a lot more attention than perhaps budgies or smaller birds that are happier to be left in their cages.? Tame and very interactive birds can be quite demanding and relentless until you give them the attention they are craving.? If you have your bird inside you will be constantly cleaning their cage and the mess around it as they seem to spread food and feathers everywhere. Make sure when deciding to get a bird that you choose one that will suit your lifestyle and the house or space that you have available.? Birds like Richie or larger birds can be very noisy and aren't really suitable for units or when you have close neighbours as they can disturb everyone.? Also take into account whether they will live in an outside cage or if you want an indoor bird.? Most importantly decide whether you want a tame and trainable bird that you can have out of the cage on a regular basis or one that stays in a cage.

Overall we have thoroughly enjoyed looking after Richie and we will be more than happy to look after him again.? Although Richie has been quite noisy and messy I still think I would like to get a bird one day as I think they make great pets, especially for older kids.

Until next time,
Bec

Have You Defined Goals for Your Mobile Web Development Program?

When your enterprise is traveling the right path to tap the potential of mobile phones, to extend reach with the aid of a mobile website, it has just taken the first best step. When done right, mobile web development can reap big rewards. Before spending money and time on the mobile website development program, an organization has to adopt the right strategy to gain immensely from the program.

It is imperative that your organization defines goals, prior to embarking on this project. While your organization goes through the planning phase, it has to offer its focal attention on three important categories to answer relevant queries that can take you closer to the overall objectives of the project. What are the three main components that help you define goals for the mobile web development project?

Business

In the first place, business goals ought to be defined before the program is rolled out. Your enterprise should define organizational goals and justify if mobile presence is going to provide thrust to your organization in its efforts to achieve business objectives. Apart from accomplishing business objectives by making diligent use of mobile sites, organizations should also know if the mobile site would act as a vehicle to extend business reach.

Needless to say, an organization gains mileage out of the mobile site when the medium brings in new business opportunities. More importantly, the company that wants to make the most of the mobile site should know if this medium is the ideal option to set up a strong platform and introduce innovative measures, to bring customers under the organization?s fold.

User

As an important category, users deserve complete attention as when an enterprise defines goals for this project. From the end user?s perspective, an enterprise should know how the target audience will get benefited from the mobile site built by the company. Moreover, your organization should also consider the tasks that get accomplished through the mobile website before coming up with the ideal plan.

Other factors that take shape in form of interaction with the mobile content, frequency of use, among other relevant factors ought to be considered from a user?s perspective to define goals for the project.

Technology

It is also important to consider technology and resource opportunities when a company is devising a plan to roll out this project. Before defining goals, an organization should also devote its focal attention on the constraints that can dampen the program, in order to devise strategies that can thwart such constraints.

Before rolling out robust mobile website development program, your enterprise should define overall goals to achieve success out of this campaign.

Ashley Davis Bush, LCSW: Recharge Your Relationship (and Family) at the Dinner Table: 6 Easy Habits

If you're not feeling connected to your spouse after work, if family dinner in your house has disintegrated into a chaotic free-for-all, then it's time to make some changes to your evening meal routine.

True, there are many nights when conflicting kid and adult schedules make sitting down together an impossibility. However, insisting on at least one night per week when everyone comes together can sow the seeds of connection.

With one or more of these simple habits at the table, dinnertime can become more than just another chore on your "to-do" list.

1. Turn off all screens and electrical devices during the meal. If it's not allowed on an airline take-off, then don't use it during dinner. No TV, cell phones, iPods, laptops, or tablets during the meal. Commit to a set period of time -- 10, 20, or 30 minutes -- for everyone to stay at the table, screen-free.

2. Share a highlight during the meal. One at a time, have everyone at the table share a special moment from their day. Listen attentively as others share something positive. Not only is this a way to connect with each other, it will also redirect the evening away from the stresses of the day. It will drive home the point that even a harried day has its small joys or pleasures.

3. Touch your significant other during the meal. Make an intentional effort to touch your mate's arm, hand, or leg while you dine. Most couples forget the power of simple, regular touches to convey affection and build connection. You can engender a feeling of emotional security for your children when they see loving behaviors. And you will also model for them that it is normal and healthy for couples to touch.

4. Gain perspective. Look around the table and breathe it all in. Young children will grow up. Teenagers will leave the house. Partners will get sick and maybe even die before you. Everything you see is temporary, in flux, and precious. Remind yourself to savor each moment because, for better or for worse, "this too shall pass."

5. Compliment your mate after the meal. Pay your spouse a compliment after the meal. Tell them you appreciated the delicious dinner and their efforts. Tell them you appreciate their hard work in providing for the family. Most couples are chronically compliment-deprived. Find something to appreciate -- rather than to nag about -- and let them know. This creates a spirit of kindness for the evening ahead and it models a climate of appreciation for children.

6. Nuzzle your mate's neck during cleanup. Cleaning up is nobody's favorite job. As your mate is at the kitchen sink, go up behind them and playfully nuzzle the back of their neck. The neck is a powerhouse of nerve endings. Help lighten the mood of cleanup with an intimate physical connection.

By practicing these simple habits inspired by Shortcuts to Inner Peace, you'll find that dining together can be a source of nourishment, not just for your body, but also for your family and for your romantic relationship.

The Unbearable Whiteness of White Meat

On Thanksgiving, a family member will carve up the turkey and ask us all, "White meat or dark?"? Ron Rosenbaum scoffs at the preference for white meat over dark and discusses several possible reasons for the bias. Does the darker tone recall the soil we tread? Or are we betraying a more insidious prejudice? His original piece from 2012 is reprinted below.????

Why white meat?

Why white meat?

Let me say at the outset, I don't mean to be a buzz-kill. I'm happy for you if you like white-meat turkey. I don't think less of you. In fact I think rather more of you for being able to be satisfied with so little in the way of flavor. Perhaps in a past life you were a self-flagellating friar. (I'm reading Wolf Hall can't help the allusion. Best novel I've read in years, by the way.)

But, seriously, I mean no disrespect, especially in this holiday celebration of fellowship and thanksgiving. And, yes, I'm familiar with the phrase "de gustibus non est disputandum"?there's no arguing about taste. But in the case of white meat from a Thanksgiving turkey, well, I'd argue about that.

White meat turkey has no taste. Its slabs of dry, fibrous material are more like cardboard conveyances, useful only for transporting flavorsome food like stuffing and gravy from plate to mouth. It's less a foodstuff than a turkey app, simulated meat, a hyperlink to real food.

But I am fascinated by how tastes get made and unmade, the intersection of culture, class and sensory responses. Not being a postmodernist I wouldn't call the overwhelming American preference for white-meat turkey a form of cultural hegemony. More like a mass hallucination. Why, for instance, hasn't white meat shared the same fate, the same cultural disenfranchisement, as packaged white bread?

Some of you may remember white bread. Not the white bread of crusty baguettes and the like, but the white bread of sliced, standardized loaves of cotton wool, the stuff people ate before everyone switched to baguettes and focaccia and brioche, which are, yes, often "white" but not "white bread" in the old-fashioned, mass-produced sense. I'm talking about Wonderbread bread.

White bread of this sort is still around, can still be found, but no longer enjoys any elite status. Refined white-flour bread once was regarded as the peak of social refinement by the new middle class, perhaps because it left behind the time-consuming home-baked whole-grain variety. No gritty grains, no uncracked wheat, just highly processed, snow-white identical slices. It was aspirationally upper-crusty even at tea time when the crusts were cut off.

Then "refined" became a dirty word, nutritionally at least. White bread suffered two successive falls from grace. First from upper-middle class households, in the years when "middle class" became not an achievement to be proud of but a signifier of negative attributes: White bread came to be associated with boring blandness, suburban sanitized white-picket-fence-ified phony gentility. A veritable curse upon a person or a work of art: "That's so white-bread."

And then the final fall, evident in the successive waves of ever-more-prevalent stone-ground, hippie, New Age, whole-grain, zucchini-infused, heavily seeded, soy-enhanced brown bread. Its cause was aided by the nutritionists who scolded that eating white bread was a virtual death sentence since processing removed all nutritional value, which caused manufacturers to pump artificial vitamins into the white paste they turned out. White bread, we were instructed, was almost as toxic as the dread poison white sugar.

Even mass marketers shunned it in favor of (often artificially flavored and colored) brown bread, which came in whole-grain and "cracked-wheat" and fake bakery configurations. By this time, eating white bread, buying white bread became worse than being white-bread. It became redneck. It became a signifier of trailer-park, gas-station-convenience-store culture. Imagine a New York hostess?a hostess anywhere!?serving some of those pale squares of paper pulp at a dinner party. Might as well serve TV dinners for the main course, or a Dorito burrito bag.

I digress on the fate of white bread because what's mystifying to me is the profound enigma: Why hasn't this same dynamic affected white-meat turkey? Yes, there are the foodies who claim their "heritage" turkeys offer white meat that tastes much better than what you find on those obscenely bloated Butterballs. But at $14 a pound, a single heritage turkey can free-range up to $200 for a single family-size bird.

And then when you present your heritage bird, according to some comments I've read on foodie chat-room boards, you're liable to get comments like, "How come the white meat isn't more white?"

This is what I can't understand: Why does most of America want its turkey meat white? Why do people flock to the obscenely named Butterballs, which boast of overinflated breasts as unnatural as the silicone boobs of truck-stop strip joints or of the Kardashian sisters?

Why have we broken the chains of the whiteness that bound us to fatally tasteless white bread while still remaining imprisoned in the white-meat turkey ghetto?

A friend was trying to convince me that in fact America has lost its taste for this tasteless meat, but the Sunday before Thanksgiving I was listening to the CBS all-news radio station in New York City, and they were doing a fluff piece on the turkey buying that was peaking that weekend. And the reporter was interviewing some guy from Stew Leonards, a food mega-store that serves New York City's sophisticated suburbs and exurbs in Westchester County and Fairfield County, Conn.

And the guy was boasting that his turkeys were "bred to have 18 to 22 percent more white meat." After which the CBS announcer made a stupid wisecrack about breasts that alone would make you want to forgo the silicone-textured mega-butterballs.

And these are ciabatta-bread people, not Wonderbread people! Do they still associate white meat with refinement? It was enough to make me wonder whether there could be a racial, if not racist, subtext here. Perhaps there is a clue in the shifting fate of the "other white meat"?pork. I'll never forget the moment when I learned the antebellum racial origin of the phrase "living high on the hog." I had driven down the I-5 "grapevine," that fog-shrouded mountainous interior route from San Francisco to L.A. with a couple of Communist Party women who were mothers of death row prisoners (long story). When dawn broke and we arrived in Watts, they guided me to a place called Ray's Redwood City, an all-night, almost all-black joint where the ladies of Saturday night dined with the ministers of Sunday morning (not at the same tables), and my fellow travelers ordered me a dish called "high on the hog," a mountain of scrambled eggs topped by a fried pork chop.

It was then I learned the etymology of the phrase in America. It hails from the plantation days, when the white slave owners dined on choice pork chops cut from "high on the hog" while the slaves made do with the lower parts of the pig?the ham hocks, the pigs feet, the pork bellies, and the innards. White meat was high on the hog, but not higher on flavor than other (often darker) cuts. Indeed the "other white meat" now available most frequently in lean and tasteless pork chops and cutlets has little more taste than white meat turkey.
