Being the fortunate winner and lucky recipient of a weekend away for two to a top class luxury hotel some years ago, I dragged my other half off for a couple of days of fun and debauchery! Packing a suitcase that would have been more at home on an air-plane destined for a three month stint in Barbados, I piled the boot of the car sky high with my mini collection of designer bikinis, and romantic evening ensembles for the short two hour drive from the inner city to the seaside town of Southend-on-Sea. Ensconcing myself in our 5 star suite, and donning the ultra fluffy, voluminous white bath robe, I ventured sheepishly to the underground health centre, where I vowed to lose half a stone in an hour of exercise and pampering.
Free from the constraints of public humility, I found myself in a very posh, revitalising spa, where my ablutions were set to begin. After several lengths, (two to be exact), of an Olympic sized swimming pool had been duly completed, I entered the Turkish baths area and immersed myself into a swirling pool of steaming hot luxury, Jacuzzi jets, blasting away the stresses of the day, and massaging my cellulite into oblivion.
Fast forward a couple of hours and bear witness to the birth of a lithe, relaxed and svelte like apparition, ready to take on the midnight dance floor, sure to follow the dreamy champagne dinner a-deux. Sadly, the yawning, bleary eyed husband didn?t quite see it that way and was more interested in my stories regarding the d?cor of the steam rooms, purely because we were imminently due to renovate our ageing and musty bathroom. All things tiles and tiling were top of his agenda, so if I didn?t comply to the best of my ability, the amorous inclinations at the forefront of my head would vanish into a hole of obscurity. Sensing his frustration, I encouraged him to join me there, to see for himself, the fabulous tiling and wet room facilities that were on display.
A fortuitous meeting with the health centre manager was informative to say the least. They had invested in an all-inclusive kit that could be adapted to any size, large or small, to complete the job. Wet room kits are the new and innovative way of treating your bathroom against any type of water damage, so you can splash away to your heart?s content. He also informed us that the fitters used a product aptly named no more ply ? which is an innovation in itself. The kit ensures that you will have all the materials necessary to complete the job in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Researching wet room kits online is simple, so much so that we had ordered and paid for our kit long before we hit the dance floor. It was to be delivered just in time for our arrival back home. The kit contained everything that we needed to ensure that the new bathroom would be completely waterproof, along with the use of the ingenious no more ply meant that we could keep our Thermonet underfloor heating without risk of it being damaged. Now what a successful trip that turned out to be, passion being the operative word!
