Pete Gillen, who led teams to nine appearances in the NCAA Tournament, will be a guest lecturer at the Siena Basketball Coaches Clinic on Oct. 20 in the Alumni Recreation Center.
Gillen went 392-221 during stints with Xavier, Providence and Virginia. He guided Providence to the NCAA Elite Eight in 1997.
He was briefly linked to the Siena coaching opening in 2005, after Rob Lanier was fired. The Saints ended up hiring Fran McCaffery.
Coaches can register for the clinic for $50. Each additional coach on the same staff pays $25. Attendees will be provided a Siena polo shirt, a notebook and detailed practice plans.

Siena has added a walk-on to its roster. Freshman guard Chris Leppanen, a CBA graduate, was a Times Union second-team all-area selection as a senior. Leppanen is a Troy native.
